Julie Richardson, Pastry Chef & Author
Baker & Spice creator, baker and cookbook author Julie Richardson chose Portland as her home in 1997.
Inspired by the beauty of baking and the bountiful seasons of the Pacific Northwest, Julie created Baker & Spice - an early Portland Farmers Market stall beloved for it’s seasonal hand-pies and singular shortbread cookies.
Now, Julie shares her passion for baking at the Baker & Spice Bakery, the Cakery and in award-winning books: Rustic Fruit Desserts and Vintage Cakes.
She and her husband Matt Kappler live close to the bakery with their four-legged family: Bert, Silvan, Huckleberry, Hazel & Pineau!
